My political views have always resided somewhere at the center. Sociologically, children adopt their political ideologies from their parents. However, I feel that my own views of American and International policies, culture, and society has developed from both my liberal peers in both High School and College along with my parent's perspectives. What has stayed constant throughout my adolescent years is the yearning to stay informed on current events. It is difficult to find your own voice and opinion when  you are inundated with other people's opinions and perspectives both politically and socially. These circumstances lead me to delving into reading news coverage and research from all sources across the political spectrum. I utilize research to help me decide logically for myself what I believe is right or wrong with today's social and political problems. What I post on the site gives me the chance to digest and analyze societal and political problems with the only influences of my own consciousness and the various sources in which I read. In High School, I felt I was confident in raising my opinions during class discussion about modern societal and political issues and events, however since I have entered college, I feel that drive to discourse with my peers has faded keeping much of my opinions to myself. I am both excited and nervous creating this blog for the fact that for first time my own words will be published for the world to read, however it will also be the first time in a long time my voice will be heard.
